Stunned Stunned Stunned! This was the 1st and LAST time i will ever visit Little Mexico! We were a party of four that had to yell "Hello?" from the lobby after waiting several minutes for someone to come and seat us or say hello. I don't care for mexican food so i asked for a kids menu. Our waiter, Carl, refused. He still refused after I explained that I don't like mexican food and I would not be ordering anything. Our intention was to order appetizers drinks dinner and dessert. Instead we had water and a quick meal. what could have easily been a $200 tab ended up being a $40 tab. I'm not sure how making your patrons angry is helpful to any sort of business plan. And to top the whole thing off our waiter followed us out the front door to smoke a cigarette right outside the front doors as we were leaving.

STAY AWAY DEFINITELY NOT MEXICAN! Tried and will never go back. When we walked in we were told to sit where we wanted and all the tables were dirty. Waitress came took drink orders and I asked for some cheese sauce with my chips mind you the cheese sauce tasted like straight Velveeta cheese melted and mind you we had to wait 10 min just for the cheese sauce. I ordered a steak burrito and my husband got the so called wings. We waited another 25 mins just on our food by the time it came out we were disgusted. You could tell the beans cannned and rice was boxed. Chips were straight out of a bag. My husband refused to eat the food and went to pay he agreed to pay the whole bill and the so called managet came out rude as he'll I'm guessing because we didn't like the food. He pretty much told us to never come back.

Has gone drastically down hill for food quality. Not the same. Ingredients have changed. Had to choke down Mr Mexican. Tacos were good but the rest was miserable.

Not real Mexican food, tacos come with lettuce and cheese, rice was awful. Sorry but, I will not recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful scenic setting and great atmosphere.

I like the place great atmosphere the workers are extremely nice and informative. The pie/cakes are good sweet tea is awesome. There is plenty of parking for groups its a clean place. They even have some slot machines which is cool. Only negative thing is the food taste cheap not a fan.

Had a large birthday party here. The waiter was wonderful. Handled all of our requests and meals in a timely fashion. However, at our table of five, two dishes of food was burnt and not seasoned.

People leaving the reviews, hi. I’m tina. I’ve been a waitress at little Mexico on and off for three years. We’re trying. We are severely understaffed, at this time. The chips are most definitely not from a bag, the salsa in made by the old owner, we have ONE cook and one prep cook, again, we are very very understaffed right now and have been for quite a while. Just thought I’d let you guys know, we are trying our hardest. We work hard at what we do, & we thank each and every one of you. 😊 also, we will be getting NEW AND IMPROVED menus shortly! We do not have kids menus right now, but your waitress or waiter will be more than happy to let you know what we have for your kiddos!

Great place to eat . Definately get full. Good service. Atmosphere gives a great feeling as you dine.

We went here for a rehearsal dinner for a wedding. We had buffet style food and margaritas. The food was very good, and the margaritas were average. The atmosphere is legitimately the best of any Mexican restaraunt I have been to. This place is a gem in the small town of Mattoon! Highly recommended if you are in the area. The yellow rice was particularly good!

I went here once the food wasn’t that great. I wouldn’t go back . If you want Mexican food I would advice you to go to a different place .we had chips and salsa . The salsa taste like tomato sauce .

I'm always pleased with the service we receive from Sherry but the food was edible at best. I've been going to Little Mexico for years and loved it be a use it was different than all the other Mexican restaurants. They've always added chili on their beans (which has now been removed) and the salsa has always had a very unique taste. The salsa did not taste the same at all. I was very disappointed & if it weren't for Sherry I wouldn't go back.

To go orders are charged 1.50$ that is not ok ,when customer 9s picking food up themselves

When we got a4ived for lunch there was a sign on the door informing that they are no longer open on Sundays !
